STAINED TOPS

ALDER

  • Alder has a similar grain to cherry.

  • Unless otherwise specified, alder tops are NOT distressed. 

  • Wood is a natural material and will have variations in color, grain, and texture.

  • Stained tops are sealed with several coats of a satin rub-on poly.

  • Alder tops can be either solid (smooth top) or planked.  Please specify when ordering.

  • Planked tops are tongue and groove and will move with changes in the environment. The planks can either shrink or swell.

  • Solid tops are glued together and do not tend to change as much with the environment.

                       

STAINED TOPS

FIR

  • FIR has a very distinctive, straight grain.

  • Unless otherwise specified, fir tops are distressed, and will have some dents, and scratches. 

  • Wood is a natural material and will have variations in color, grain, and texture.

  • Stained tops are sealed with several coats of a satin rub-on poly.

  • We recommend that fir tops be done as a solid (smooth) top..
